My career began in childcare as a nursery manager which is extremely different to accounts although both definitely have their challenges! I then went on to have a family before deciding to retrain and study for my accounting qualifications.

I joined the Tax Return Adviser shortly after and I now deal with the VAT side of things on a quarterly basis, freeing up clients’ time so they can run their businesses more easily and effectively.

I love working with numbers, it’s completely different to what I’ve done before but the sense of satisfaction I get when figuring out a complex calculation to help a client is just great.

I’ve started to become more client-facing too now which is nice as it helps build trust and understanding; something that’s vitally important when we’re dealing with people’s money.

My spare time is spent mostly with my family and friends as well as reading. I’m also known to love a good box set or two!
